Tanner named finalist for the Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year

BOSTON, Mass. - The finalists for the 2022 Joe B. Hall award were announced on Monday and Wildcats head coach Brette Tanner was named one of 15 finalists for the award. This award is presented annually to the top first-year coach in Division I college basketball.
Tanner has put together an outstanding season in his first year at the helm of the Wildcats leading the team to a 25-10 record and an appearance in the WAC Tournament Championship game. The team is leading the nation in three defensive categories: turnover margin (+8.7), forced turnovers (21.23), and steals per game (11.0). In their first season in the WAC, ACU finished 11-7 to grab the six seed and beat three 20-win teams and two conference co-champions on their way to the championship game appearance. The Wildcats also secured their fourth-consecutive 20-win season and are currently competing in the CBI where they will play in the semifinal game tonight against Middle Tennessee.
