Bonnarens drops 20 points at UTRGV

ABILENE – Grad transfer Jamie Bonnarens led the way with 20 points for the Abilene Christian women's basketball team at UTRGV on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats (14-8, 6-5 WAC) got outscored 44-30 in the second half as they dropped an 82-62 decision in their rematch with the Vaqueros (9-14, 5-6 WAC). ACU will head to the Windy City on Monday for a make-up game against Chicago State.
Turning Point: The fourth quarter.
ACU trailed by nine going into the fourth quarter, but UTRGV out-shot the Wildcats 76% to 38% in the final 10 minutes. The Vaqueros outscored ACU 24-13 to pull away.

- 1Q | Bonnarens scored the first basket of the game, and it was followed by a pair of Tatum Barber free throws to go up 4-0.
- 1Q | Trailing 16-7, ACU closed the quarter on a 10-0 run. Nykale Cramer sparked it with an and-one inside, and then converted another layup to pull within one. Bonnarens buried a three-pointer to give the Wildcats hte lead at the end of the frame, 17-16.
