EDINBURG, Texas—The Wildcats came out with a fire under them in the first set on Thursday night as they hit .467 on their way to a 25-23 opening set win over UTRGV. The Vaqueros responded with a dominant effort at the net in the next two sets and held the Wildcats to an .060 hitting percentage over sets two and three. ACU kept it competitive in the third, but UTRGV pulled away late and earned the four-set victory.

Jada Birkel went for a season-high 14 kills on an astounding .560 hitting percentage. She went 14-25 with no errors in the match.
Ashli Edmiston earned her ninth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 11 digs.
Bryley Steinhilber had her 15^th match with double-digit kills, notching 11 on the night.
Andie Sheppard led all players with 17 digs.

News and Notes

With the loss, the Wildcats were eliminated from contention for the WAC tournament.
UTRGV secured the regular season title with their win, moving to 12-1 in conference play.
