Volleyball closes the 2022 season in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, N.M.—Abilene Christian closed out their 2022 season on the road at New Mexico State on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats struggled to get their offense going against a tough Aggies front at the net, hitting just .058 as a team. The Aggies were fighting for a spot in the WAC Tournament and came out hot, jumping out to a six-point lead early and eventually taking the first set 25-19. The Wildcats had just eight kills in the second set and fell 25-17. Despite another early Aggies lead in the third, ACU bounced back late to get withing three, but fell 25-20 to end the match.

- Jada Birkel led the Wildcats in kills once again with nine on a .222 hitting percentage.
- The Aggies put up a tough block, putting up 11 total blocks with seven solo blocks.
- Ashli Edmiston finished with 255 kills on the season just 13 shy of Mueller's 268 which was the most by a freshman in the Wildcats' DI tenure.
- Madeline Guffy finished the season with 34 aces the second-most in a season for a Wildcat in the DI era.
