ABILENE, Texas – The ACU football team is slated for a road trip to take on the University of North Dakota this Saturday, marking the Wildcats' first-ever journey to the Peace Garden State. The Wildcats are coming off a Week 8 bye, while UND was tripped up against the nation's top team last week.

The Wildcats (5-2, 2-0 WAC)
  • Abilene Christian saw each of their last two games end with three-point differences, falling 41-38 to SFA on Oct. 8 before defeating Southern Utah 21-18 on Homecoming the following Saturday.
  • Jermiah Dobbins has been the workhorse back for the Purple and White so far this fall, rushing for 639 yards and seven scores through seven games. He was named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week twice, making him the only player in the league to pick up the award multiple times.
  • Linebacker Reese Young has taken over the team lead in tackles with 34, while Tyrin Bradley continues to sit atop the Wildcat leaderboard with nine quarterback hurries.
  • This Saturday will be the fourth time the Wildcats have played indoors in their 101-year history. The others came in the 1977 NAIA Division I national championship at the Kingdome in Seattle; 1989 and 1995 at the Northern Arizona Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Ariz.; and 2014 against Georgia State at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
  • An ACU win would give the Wildcats their first six-win season since the 2018 campaign and would improve the Purple and White to 3-1 in non-conference FCS games this fall.

The Fighting Hawks (4-3, 3-2 MVFC)
  • North Dakota played their fourth nationally-ranked opponent of the season last week, falling 49-35 at the hands of #1 South Dakota State. The loss was just the second at home for UND since the start of the 2019 season, with both coming against top five programs in conference play.
  • The Fighting Hawks have been balanced on the offensive side of the football to date, with 50.1% of their total coming by way of pass. Quarterback Tommy Schuster enters play this weekend averaging 245 yards per game and has nine touchdown passes against just four interceptions. Bo Belquist has been his favorite target, hauling in 40 receptions for 478 yards and a trio of scores.
  • Tyler Hoosman has been no slouch on the ground, averaging nearly six yards per rush over 91 attempts. He has picked up eight rushing touchdowns through seven games, and he has already cleared the century mark three times this fall.
  • Defensive back Kadon Kauppinen has been a machine for UND, racking up 25 assisted tackles to go with 18 solos.
