ABILENE – The ACU soccer team returns to Elmer Gray Stadium for the first time since Sept. 25 when the host a pair of huge games this weekend. The Wildcats (4-6-4, 0-4-3 WAC) embark on the final four games of the season when they play host to Utah Valley on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. before wrapping the weekend against Seattle U on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 12 p.m. ACU will host Little League Night on Friday before playing in the annual Pink Out on Sunday afternoon. Both games will air on WAC International.

ACU STORYLINES

  • WHERE WE STAND – The Wildcats sit five points out of eighth place in the WAC standings, and with four games remain, have a big spot ahead of them going into the weekend. ACU is coming off a 0-0 tie at California Baptist on Sunday to gain another point in the standings.
  • LEADING THE WAY – Sophomore Chayse Thorn scored a pair of goals against Grand Canyon last Friday night, and now leads the way with six scores this season. Thorn leads the team with 13 points and ranks second with 26 shot attempts. She has played a team-high 17 shots on frame.
  • RECORD BOOKS – Senior Natalie Jones has 50 career points, which is tied for fourth in ACU history. The midfielder is tied for sixth all-time with teammate Caylen Wright with 18 career goals scored. Jones is tied for fifth all-time with 14 assists and is now sixth all-time with 165 career shot attempts.
  • THE COACH – Head coach Casey Wilson, in his 16th season, is approaching 170 wins at ACU. The head man has 167 victories in his time as the only coach in program history.

SCOUTING UTAH VALLEY (9-3-3, 5-1-1 WAC)

  • The Wolverines are coming off a weekend sweep with wins over UTRGV (6-1) and SFA (2-0). Utah Valley currently sits tied for third place in the WAC standings.
  • UVU is an offensive juggernaut, scoring 34 goals this season. Julianna Carter leads with eight scores, while Faith Webber has scored seven times and Heather Stainbrook has six goals.
  • Idalia Serrano leads the way with 13 starts in net and a 5-3-3 record, and has tallied a team-high 33 saves.

SCOUTING SEATTLE U (8-5-2, 5-1-1 WAC)

  • The Redhawks are also coming off a sweep over SFA (5-3) and UTRGV (5-0). SU scored 10 goals in the two wins over the weekend, and currently sit tied for third place in the WAC standings.
  • Seattle U has scored 30 goals this season, led by the six from Kaylee Coatney and the five from U'i Kaaihue.
  • Jessica Berlin leads the way in net with 13 starts and a 6-5-2 record with 45 saves.
