The Wildcats (4-2, 1-0 WAC)
  • Abilene Christian is coming off a road loss to rival SFA in non-conference action last Saturday night. After falling behind 21-0, the Wildcats battled back to tie the game 38-38, but the Lumberjacks connected on a 51-yard field goal with no time remaining to win the first of two matchups between the two teams this fall.
  • Running back Jermiah Dobbins repeated as WAC Offensive Player of the Week after racking up 166 yards and three scores on the ground. He enters play this week as the top back on the league leaderboard in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, and he is averaging north of 5.0 yards per carry.
  • Kobe Clark went for nine catches on Saturday, hauling in the 236th reception of his career on the final offensive play of the night. In the process, Clark passed Jerale Badon to take over sole possession first place in the program record book, and the Sweetwater native also now ranks fourth in ACU history with 2,550 receiving yards.
  • A week after becoming just the fifth Wildcat to ever reach 200 career kicking points, team captain Blair Zepeda slid into ninth on the all-time list in total points scored. His sights are now set on Eben Nelson (2001-04), who he trails by just 12 points.
  • Defensively, Tyrin Bradley continues to be a force off the edge for the Purple and White, as his forced fumble against SFA gave the Wildcats a shot at a game-winning drive. He currently leads the team in tackles and quarterback hurries, and he is one of seven Wildcats with at least 20 tackles so far this fall.
  • ACU is unbeaten at home so far, picking up wins against Lamar, Prairie View A&M and Western New Mexico. The Wildcats have outscored opponents 83-34 at Wildcat Stadium in 2022.

The Thunderbirds (3-3, 1-1 WAC)
  • Southern Utah will make its second trip to the Lone Star State in as many weeks for Week 7 following a 42-40 loss to a Tarleton team that has now won three straight.
  • Quarterback Justin Miller completed 32 of his 46 pass attempts while tossing for 383 yards and a pair of scores in the high-scoring affair.
  • Isaiah Williams emerged as the back with the hot hand for the Thunderbirds last week, totaling 120 yards and three touchdowns for the day.
  • Receivers Isaiah Wooden and Steve Jenkins combined for 11 catches while producing 107 and 103 yards respectively.
  • Freshman linebacker Kohner Cullimore has been a force for SUU, racking up 44.0 tackles to go with 6.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, three QB hurries and a forced fumble.
  • The Thunderbirds are in their first season in the Western Athletic Conference and have never played a game against Abilene Christian.
