ABILENE - The Wildcats clinched a postseason berth in their final game of the regular season in 2021 and the team is looking to make that next step as they make the transition to the WAC. ACU has an abundance of youth and a new-look roster as they step into 2022 primed for success.
The Wildcats battery will feature a good mixture of returning impact players with incoming talent that will be a big part of the team's success moving forward. The biggest addition in the offseason for ACU was the return of Sidney Holman-Mansell, a graduate transfer from Baylor who spent her freshman season with the Wildcats. Holman-Mansell was a first-team all-conference performer in her lone season with ACU and will look to get back to that level of success this spring. The pitching staff will also see the return of sophomore Riley White who threw nearly 100 innings for ACU last spring, while adding another grad transfer, Laurén Scheik and freshman Hannah Benavides.
The catching duties will fall largely on sophomore Avery Miloch who appeared behind the plate in about half of the teams games a season ago. While Miloch will get the lion's share of the catcher duties, sophomore Sydney Kaiser and freshman Miranda Lista will both likely see time behind the plate.
