
Brandenburg's season come to a close at NCAA Nationals

EUGENE, Ore. - In her second-straight appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Annina Brandenburg placed 22nd in the discus throw. Part of the first flight of throwers, Brandenburg missed on two of her three attempts with her first throw going wide right and a foul on her final attempt. Her second throw went a distance of 51.84m (170-1) and was good for fifth place at that point in the event. She eventually finished 11th in her flight and 22nd overall after the completion of the event. Her finish makes her a two-time All-American, earning an honorable mention nod this year after earning a second team designation in 2019.

This concludes the 2021 outdoor track season for the Wildcats and Brandenburg, but it was an overall successful season for the junior. She was the high-point scorer at the Southland Outdoor championships winning two gold medals and a silver that helped the team to their highest point ever at the meet. She totaled four wins in the discus over the season that helped her position herself to reach the national meet.
