ABILENE -- Abilene Christian men's and women's tennis will play host to a doubleheader Saturday at noon vs. their neighborhood rivals from McMurry. This will be the Wildcats' final tune-up prior to heading to Beaumont, Texas next week for the Southland Conference Championships.
The men defeated McMurry 7-0 on Feb. 28, but the women's match was postponed because of the mid-February cold snap that affected the entire state.
ACU's men's team comes into this weekend with a 7-13 mark and 2-3 record in the Southland Conference. The Wildcats will need some help this weekend hanging onto the fourth and final seed for the conference tournament.
The Wildcat women meanwhile are 10-12 overall and finished their league slate last weekend with a conference record of 5-5. They will go into the tournament as the No. 6 seed and open up the championship next Friday with a 10 a.m. match vs. Central Arkansas.
McMurry's men's and women's respective records are 5-6 and. 4-5. Both teams are slated to play later today vs. Hardin-Simmons
