ACU Golf tees off at Trinity Forest Invitational Sunday

ABILENE - Abilene Christian golf begins competing Sunday at the Trinity Forest Invitational, which is being hosted by the Trinity Forest Golf Club (7,330 yards / Par 71) in Dallas through Tuesday. The course was designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw.
ACU is one of 14 teams in this year's field, which also features Ball State, Florida Atlantic, Lamar, Little Rock, Louisville, Kansas City, Rice, TCU, Sam Houston, No. 18 North Texas, UT Arlington, UTSA and tournament host 14th-ranked SMU.
The Wildcats will be represented on the links by Francisco Osio, Alex Clouse,Brian Choe, Zane Heusel and Charlie Jackson. Jackson, a freshman from Norman, Oklahoma, will be making his spring debut after competing at all three fall tournaments. This tournament also will be No. 6 for Clouse and Choe, and No. 5 for Osio. Heusel also is one of four Wildcats who has qualified for all three spring events.
The Wildcats tee off at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at hole No. 10 alongside their Southland Conference rivals from Sam Houston State and Rice, who the Wildcats beat by 28 strokes last weekend at the Cabo Collegiate hosted by TPC San Antonio.
Clouse led the Wildcats at the Cabo Collegiate, tying for 47th overall in a field of 88 competitors from the best schools in the country. The senior birdied three consecutive holes over the back nine during the third and final round on the Oaks Course to finish 2-under 70 on the day and 10-over 226 overall.
