Miloch notches second career HR in Denton

Denton, Texas—The Wildcats closed out a tough three-game swing at North Texas on Tuesday afternoon, falling 10-2 in five innings. The Mean Green got out to a quick start with two solo shots in the bottom of the first, taking the early 2-0 lead. UNT threatened again in the second inning, but Samantha Bradley and the Wildcats got out of a bases loaded jam to keep the score at 2-0 through two innings.

North Texas would put together back-to-back four run innings in the third and fourth to give them the commanding 10-0 lead heading into the fifth. ACU started the fifth off strong with a leadoff walk from Randi Davila followed by Avery Miloch sending a huge shot over the scoreboard of Lovelace Stadium. With two runs on the board, the team had a chance to keep the game alive if they could score at least one more run. Briana Tijerina had a clutch pinch hit with one out, but the Wildcats were unable to plate another run.

Stat pack
  • Samantha Bradley took the loss, moving to 1-2 on the season, and pitched just two innings.
  • Paige Harris made her first career pitching appearance facing three batters in the bottom of the third inning.
  • Miloch's homerun was her second of the season, which leads the Wildcats along with Bradley and Calie Burris who each have two as well.
  • Davila has two plate appearances on the season and has reached base in each of them. She singled against UTEP and drew a walk in her lone appearance today.
