San Marcos, Texas—The Wildcats offense struggled to produce on Monday afternoon and the team dropped both games of the doubleheader in San Marcos. ACU put together some highlight-worthy defensive plays and
Calie Burris launched her second homerun of the season, but the Bobcats proved to be a tough out.
Game 1
The Wildcats struggled to get going offensively against the tough pitching of Texas State. The Wildcats were able to get a couple runners on early, but could not find ways to advance them. ACU's defense made some stellar plays, especially in the outfield, but Texas State earned the 6-0 win.
Game 2
ACU got on the board first in the second game of the day on Burris' two-run homer that followed a single from
Briana Tijerina. The Bobcats bounced back just one inning later to take a 3-2 lead, and added three more runs late to earn a 6-2 win.
