Rono, Kiyeng ready for Saturday's National Championships

ABILENE, Texas – Irene Rono and Prudence Kiyeng will be heading to Florida this week to represent ACU at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships. Both runners have finished inside the top ten individually in each of their five competitions this fall, giving the Wildcats one of the most consistent duos in the nation.
"We are really excited for both of them. They have both been toward the front of small races all year, but we had to be conservative to think about the team picture. This will be their first opportunity to be really aggressive in racing," head coach Jarvis Jelen. "We had somewhat of a lowkey season for travel and meet size, but our training has been strong and consistent. These two have continued to progress, and they are feeling energized and ready heading into this weekend."
