Wildcats meet Bobcats for first time Sunday

SAN MARCOS, Texas – ACU soccer will play its third game of the seven-game fall schedule this weekend as they battle the Bobcats of Texas State at the Bobcat Soccer Complex on Sunday, Sept. 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the match can be seen on ESPN+. It will be the first ever meeting between the schools, and ACU (0-1-1) goes for its first win of the season.

SERIES HISTORY
- It is the first meeting between the schools. Texas State resides in the Sun Belt Conference.

TEXAS STATE ATTENDANCE POLICY
- Attendance at the Bobcat Soccer Complex will be limited to 25% capacity (125 spectators). Admission will be granted on a first arrival basis with gates opening one hour before kickoff.
- Fans are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs due to social distancing measures in the bleachers.
- Face masks are required to get into the complex.
- Tailgating is prohibited.

ACU STORYLINES
- ACU dropped its season opener to Louisiana, 2-0, before earning a 1-1 tie with SFA on opening weekend in Lafayette, La. and Nacogdoches, Texas.
- During the opening weekend, senior Christina Arteaga moved into first place on the all-time in career shot attempts with 246, passing Andrea Carpenter's (2010-13) 238.
- Head coach Casey Wilson is five wins away from 150 in his career, with a current record of 145-93-22.
- Erin Smith is 0-1-1 in the net so far this season, and has faced 31 shots. Smith was excellent against SFA, not allowing a goal the final 88 minutes to preserve the 1-1 tie. Smith has tallied 10 saves so far in 2020.
- Arteaga's nine shot attempts lead the way, while Natalie Jones has recorded seven including a team-high three on frame.

SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
- The Bobcats fell in double overtime 2-1 to SFA at home with the match-winner coming with nine seconds left on the clock. Texas State followed with a late goal in regulation to play to a 1-1 draw at Houston Baptist.
- In net, Beth Agee recorded 16 saves over the two matches. It is the most saves by a TXST goalkeeper in the first two matches of a season since Kristen Tutt had 19 in 2002. Agee's seven stops against SFA were the most in a season opener since 2010 when Lauren Frazier made 9 at Texas Tech.
