Free Pizza and Dr. Pepper for Friday Tennis

ABILENE - Fans coming to Friday's 1 p.m. women's tennis match are welcome to grab a Dr. Pepper and slice of pizza as they watch the Wildcats begin defense of their Southland Conference regular-season crown vs. Southeastern Louisiana. The match will be played on the outdoor courts of the Eager Tennis Center as the forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of 71.

ACU posted a 10-1 record vs. the league last season and will begin its homestand vs. a Lady Lions team it has defeated five of six times since 2014. The Wildcats have won the last two duals in the series at SLU, and beat the Lady Lions 7-0 during their most recent Key City appearance in 2017.

ACU also will welcome the Cowgirls of McNeese this weekend Sunday at 10 a.m. The Wildcats are 5-2 all-time vs. McNeese, including last year's 4-3 win that clinched ACU's first regular-season title on the women's side.

Southeastern Louisiana comes to Abilene with a 4-3 record, while the Cowgirls are off to a 1-7-1 start. The Wildcats are 4-7.

Admission is free to all tennis matches.
