Wildcats in Brazil for start of FISU America Games

ABILENE – Wildcat student-athletes Kayla Melgar (throws), Morgan Knight (throws), Soren Underwood (800m, 4x400) and Katelyn Mueller (volleyball) all have arrived in São Paulo, Brazil for the start of the inaugural FISU American Games.
The Wildcats landed early Thursday morning (July 19), checked into their hotel and received USA Team uniforms. Track and Field events run from July 21 to 24, while volleyball's schedule takes place from July 22 to 26.
ACU Sports recently visited with redshirt senior Morgan Knight to talk about this trip, what it means to represent his school and country overseas, and to find out what's in store for Wildcat Throws in 2019.
The Opening Ceremony kicks off the FISU American Games festivities, Friday, July 20 at 7 p.m. at the Brazilian Paralympic Center. Fans can watch the Opening Ceremony, as well as select sport events, live at the CBDU Facebook Page. The 2018 FISU America Games will conclude Saturday, July 28 with the Closing Ceremony at 8 p.m.
