Hannah Null Monday was voted Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season as voted by the league's sports information directors.
Null went 3-0 this weekend against Incarnate Word, tossing 14.2 scoreless innings that helped her eclipse Shelly Owen's program record for most innings pitched. Owen accumulated 637.2 innings of work in only two seasons (1997-98) with 342 of those coming during the team's inaugural season of 1997.
Null has 649.1 innings under her belt and is only seven frames away from tying her personal season record of 173.1, set during her sophomore campaign of 2016. She also is 19 strikeouts away from tying Owen's season record for Ks with 172. Null's 14th and final strikeout of this past weekend topped her previous season record of 152 from her true freshman year of 2014.
The Highland Village native helped the Wildcats win by scores of 8-0, 6-0 and 3-2, and surrendered just six hits with two walks and a hit by pitch in posting a spotless ERA. Null tossed a pair of complete games through the first two contests and delivered 1.2 innings during a game three relief appearance to pick up her third win of the weekend.
This is Null's second Pitcher of the Week honor this season and third of her career. Her first POTW honor of this season came two weeks ago after she tossed two complete games and held her opponents to a .180 batting average during her 2-0 week against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.

Donelle Johnson received an honorable mention for Southland Conference Player of the Week. Johnson recorded eight hits, two in each of the four games the Wildcats played, plus three RBI and one home run with zero strikeouts. The junior finished the week with a .533 batting average, .733 slugging percentage, and .563 on base percentage.
Southland weekly award winners are nominated and voted upon by each school's sports information director. Voting for one's own athletes is not permitted. To earn honorable mention, a student-athlete must appear on 25 percent of ballots.
