The Lumberjacks scored 14 of their runs between the second and fourth innings, receiving multi-hit performances from Nick Daley, Jared Martin, Jarrod Huber and Nic Minor. Huber also drove in four runs and scored three times, while Martin drove in three RBI.
Daley additionally was adept on the basepaths with four steals, and solo home runs were hit in the second and seventh innings by Josh Evans and Skylar Black.
The Wildcats scored three runs on eight base hits. The home team tied the score at 1-1 in the first on Derek Scott's fly ball to right field, plating Matt Muñoz who went 2-for-3 today with two doubles and two runs. Muñoz scored his second run in the third, coming home on a RBI double from Dalton Dunn.
Dunn later would score on Riley Donahue's RBI single to left-center field, but the inning came to an abrupt end when Nolan Ritchie was tagged out at the plate trying to score from first base on the same hit.
Only five Wildcats reached base after the third inning. Scott singled in both the fifth and seventh, and in the eighth, Colton Eager and Seth Watts each singled with two outs.
SFA starter Trevor Kiminski (1-2) picked up the win after scattering five hits and three runs with a walk and two strikeouts through 5.0 innings pitched.
ACU concludes its four-game homestand Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. vs. Seattle. Former Wildcat pitching coach Elliott Cribby is the Redhawks' associate head coach.
