Q: Your last basketball season at Katy High School was a memorable one, highlighted by a special run in the playoffs and All-State honors for you. Tell us more about your senior season.
A: My senior season was definitely special! Our team really bonded well and coach (Shanna) Marhofer did a great job of preparing us mentally and physically for every single game. We made it to area and won for the first time in over 45 years. I also broke a couple school records that had been standing for a while, so that was pretty neat!

[Laura Rowe's Records at Katy High: Points scored in a game - 39 ... Points scored in a season - 756 ... Points scored in a career - 2088 ... Assists in a game - 10]
Q: What was your recruitment like? How did you decide to come to ACU?
A: My recruitment was pretty short, relatively speaking! In the spring of my junior year, my high school coach connected with Coach Goodenough at a coaching clinic. I attended Elite Camp here in June and received a scholarship offer shortly after that! I chose ACU because of the Christian aspect integrated into the school that you just don't find anywhere else. Not to mention amazing, godly coaches that obviously know what they're doing (back to back conference champs!!!)
Q: Tell us why you arrived a campus several days prior to the other five newcomers?
A: I came early to campus because I brought my horse with me! His name is Gunner and he's pretty young, so I wanted to be sure he settled in well at his new barn. We took a few extra days to get him adjusted to his new surroundings so I could focus on school and basketball when the rest of my teammates came back. He 's doing great and I enjoy going to see him when I need a pick-me-up!
Q: Share one important lesson or piece of advice from your parents that you are carrying with you as you begin your college career.
A: My parents just told me to work as hard as I could and have fun! They know I'm in good hands.
Q: What makes you most excited to be a Wildcat?
A: Everything makes me excited to be a Wildcat! But mostly, I'm looking forward to wearing an ACU jersey and playing the sport I love for such a great school.
