KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. — The ACU Wildcats slipped two spots in Tuesday's final round of the East Bay Classic at Kiawah, finishing the 54-hole event in 18th place to wrap up their fall schedule.
The Wildcats shot 306-296-311—913 for the tournament at Turtle Point Golf Course, finishing three strokes ahead of Maryland in the 19-team field. Tennessee (285-296-286—867) won the team title by four strokes over Augusta (288-284-299—871).
Ryan Beatty (75-72-75—222) posted ACU's top individual finish, tying for 25th in the field of 118 entries. Garrett Glanton (79-71-79—229) and Bryce Dooley (80-74-75—229) were among eight players tied for 53rd with Dooley making up 17 places in the final round.
G.K. Morrison (74-79-82—235) tied for 86th and Bill Ramage (78-86-93—257) finished 114th to round out the Wildcats' lineup.
ACU tees off the spring portion of its schedule Feb. 13-14 at the James Litz Memorial at San Antonio's The Republic Golf Club.
