Renner ties for 22nd at Bash at the Beach to lead Wildcats

North Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Senior Corbin Renner carded a 3-over 216 to lead the Abilene Christian golf team through two days of competition at the 54-hole Bash at the Beach hosted by Appalachian State at The Surf Golf and Beach Club (par 71 / 6,741 yards).
Renner's three-round score tied him for 22nd out of 105 competitors. He shot a 1-over 72 during first round action followed by 1-under 70 in round two. Today, however, he slid back down the standings with a 3-over 74.
Dillon Vaughn was the only other Wildcat to finish among the upper half of the field, shooting an 11-over 224 behind rounds of 74, 76 and 74.
ACU's team score of 51-over 903 tied them for 15th with Ohio Dominican.
James Madison University, which had all four of its players finish among the top-20, won the team title at 11-under 841, followed by West Georgia (6-under 846) and Radford (2-over 854).
Ryan Cole of JMU was the individual champion as he finished 8-under 205 with rounds of 67, 69 and 69.
The Wildcats return to action later this week with a trip to Pinehurst No. 8 in North Carolina for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The three-day event runs from Friday to Sunday.
