ABILENE
- The Abilene Christian women's soccer team will be on the road once again this weekend for matches Friday and Sunday at Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin. Match times are at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m.

Both opponents will be providing live stats and an accompanying video stream.

The Wildcats (10-2-1, 4-2) are coming off a 1-1 homestand in which they followed a 2-1 win over Central Arkansas with a 1-0 loss to Oral Roberts. Despite the loss, which was the Wildcats' first regular-season shutout loss since last October, ACU remains tied with ORU, SFA and Southeastern Louisiana for first-place in the Southland Conference with 12 points.

The Lady Demons, meanwhile, are five points off the lead at 2-2-1 and are 4-7-1 overall.

ACU became the first Southland Conference team last weekend to reach the 10-win plateau as the Wildcats used a pair of long-range goals in the first half to beat the Bears. Madison Brown scored her first goal of the season from about 35 yards back along the right flank in the sixth minute, and then freshman Natalie Throneberry followed with a strike from the top of the 18-yard box several minutes before halftime. Throneberry's goal, which was assisted by Whitley Lindholm, was her fourth of the season and third game-winner.

Senior Andrea Carpenter assisted on Brown's goal, raising her season point total to 23. The forward from Amarillo has scored at least one point in 10 of 13 games this fall and ranks second in the conference to Nicholls' Spencer Valdespino with 25. Valdespino also is first in goals with 11, while Carpenter is second with nine.

In goal, freshman Kelsey Dombrowski played all 180 minutes last weekend and allowed just two scores on 29 shots faced that bumped her GAA up from 0.44 to 0.62. She also made 15 saves and the goals she did allowed were going to be incredibly tough for anyone to stop. The goal scored by UCA came off a rebound, while the game-winner punched in by the Golden Eagles was a redirection.

Dombrowski's save percentage of .862 is currently the fifth-best in the Southland Conference.

Northwestern State played just once last weekend and earned a double-overtime 2-1 victory at home. Chelsea Schaefer struck the game winner with 1:18 left on the clock off a free kick taken by Jackie Strug. Schaefer's goal was her first of the year.

As a team, however, the Lady Demons have scored just 10 times this season (0.83 gpg) with Brooke Eastburg leading the way with two on 24 shots taken.

Jessica Danku has played most of Northwestern State's minutes in goal with 997. She has allowed 23 goals for a 2.07 GAA and saved 79 of 188 shots faced. Danku also has shutouts vs. Jacksonville State and Lamar.

Stephen F. Austin (9-2-1, 4-1 SLC) has the Southland Conference's longest winning streak at four matches, all of which have been shutouts over league opponents Northwestern State, Lamar, Houston Baptist and Sam Houston State. The Ladyjacks' recent defensive efforts has them tied for second in the nation in shutout percentage (.750) and 12th in the nation in goals against average (.474).

SFA's lone loss in conference was in overtime to Oral Roberts on Sept. 21 and that decision snapped a three-match winning streak that included victories over New Mexico State, UTEP and LSU. The Ladyjacks thumped the Tigers in their Sept. 13 meeting, 4-0.

SFA has outscored its opponents 20-6 this fall and received six goals from Chelsea Raymond and three from Zuri Prince. Melissa Gaudet and Brenda Salazar, meanwhile, each have three assists.

Eight of SFA's nine shutouts have been shared by goalkeepers Lacey Lee and Morgan Glick. Lee has started seven times and given up just two goals in 478 minutes (0.38 GAA). Glick has appeared in all 12 matches with seven starts and allowed four goals through 660 minutes of action (0.55).

Lee and Glick have combined for 37 saves on 118 shots faced.
