Willie the Wildcat Application Form
ABILENE – The most charismatic of all Abilene Christian University students are currently being sought by the Department of Athletics to don the furry suit and whiskered mask of
Willie The Wildcat.
The role of ACU's mascot includes energizing the team and crowd during home games, serving as a goodwill ambassador to local schools, organizations and charities, and participating in stunts with the cheerleaders.
The next Willie The Wildcat will be asked to start performing at ACU sporting events and functions as early as January of 2014.
Tryout dates will be determined after athletics officials have had time to contact candidates and thoroughly review each of their applications. At previous tryouts, Willie The Wildcat hopefuls were asked to perform a 30 to 60 second skit or routine for a panel of judges.
The Wildcat has served Abilene Christian University as its mascot since 1919.
