OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Abilene Christian picked up their third straight and eighth Lone Star Conference Title since 2008 picking up a hard earned, 5-1 win over Cameron in the championship match at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.
ACU picked up their 12th LSC title all-time and earned the league's automatic bid in the South Central
Region tournament next month. It was also the fourth meeting between ACU and Cameron as the Aggies picked up their only win in 2008.
Three close matches in doubles action gave ACU a 2-1 lead heading into singles play after morning rain pushed the day's matches into the afternoon. The Wildcats picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles with

Jake Hendrie taking a 9-7 win at No. 1 while
Nick Plum/Alredo Desiati squeezed out a 9-8 win at No. 3 doubles.
The three singles matches ACU need to pull out the victory came at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 singles. No. 4 singles saw Desiati pick up a, 6-4, 7-6 win over Nicolas Clerc who was dealt his first singles loss of the year.
Eldad Campbell also picked up a close win, 7-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles while
Bryan Joiner earned the easiest match with a, 6-1, 6-3 win.
The Wildcats are currently No. 2 in the South Central Region ranked behind No. 1 St. Edward's. SEU knocked off the Wildcats in March to claim the top spot in the region while the final regular season rankings will come out May 4 to determine the regional hosts.

Abilene Christian is crowned the 2011 LSC Men's Tennis Champion and earns the league's automatic qualification into the NCAA Division II postseason bracket. This marks the Wildcats' third straight LSC title, eighth since 2002 and 12th overall.
