BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 6 ACU women's tennis team continued their hot spring as they knocked of another Division I foe, Alabama-Birmingham, 5-2 in non-conference action on Thursday before falling to Samford University, 4-1 at the Samford Tennis Center.
ACU improved to 16-5 on the season as the Wildcats knocked off their second Division I opponett of the spring. The Wildcats will continue their east coast swing through Alabama and Georgia as the face Auburn-Montgomery on Friday and Columbus State on Saturday afternoon.
After the Blazers took a pair of wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles the lower half of the ACU order was able to continue a dominate performance of UAB to finish the win.
Micah Hermsdorf won her No. 4 singles match as did
Emily Conrad and
Natalie Friend at No. 5 and No. 6 singles to give the Wildcats their 16th win of the season.
