ABILENE – After back-to-back losses Jason Copeland and the ACU Wildcats are looking to get back on the winning track at No. 19 West Texas A&M Wednesday night in Canyon.
Both squads are looking for their first Lone Star Conference South Division win as the Wildcats came up short against Tarleton State and Midwestern State last week. WT fell to No. 12 Incarnate Word on the road and Eastern New Mexico on Saturday.
ACU is 8-6 on the season and are led by Zach Williams and Desmond Woodberry who both average double figure points. Senior Giordan Cole and sophomore Dosh Simms have both been solid on the glass averaging just over 5 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.
WT is led by Joe Mincey who is averaging 11.7 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. Rod Little and LaDarius Hall also average over 10 points per game for the Buffs who took the season series from ACU last year.
Tipoff at the First United Bank Center is set for 8 p.m. shortly following the women's contest.
