ACU Moves to 4-0

DALLAS – Andrea Carpenter added her third goal in two games pacing the Wildcat soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Dallas Baptist Thursday night at Patriot Field.

ACU fell behind early as the Patriots scored the first goal of the season against the Wildcats in the second minute of the game. It was the first time all season ACU had trailed but 12 minutes Ashley Holton would tie the game at, 1-1. Holton put her third goal of the season in the net with an assist from Julie Coppedege. 

Freshmen Carpenter scored her fifth goal of the season and third in two games in the 58th minute. Carpenter's game winning goal was one of 12 shots on goal for the Wildcats as the Patriots only managed four.

Earning the start in the net sophomore Arielle Moncure picked up the win replacing London. Moncure recorded three saves in the match with two coming in the first as ACU defense clamped down in the second half only allowing one shot total in the second period.

The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday for their home opener against 12th-ranked Florida Southern. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Wildcat Soccer Pitch on the ACU campus.
