Uechi Named Hitter of the Week

RICHARDSON – ACU record-breaking shortstop Willie Uechi was named Lone Star Conference Hitter of the week as announced by the league office Wednesday. Uechi was the third Wildcat to earn the honor this year after becoming the all-time hit leader at ACU and the LSC.
Senior Uechi recorded a double that skipped by the third base bag and down the left field line for hit #282 making him the all-time leader in hits at ACU and the LSC. He finished his weekend hitting .467 as he added seven hits giving him 288 all-time. His three doubles over the weekend gives him 50 all-times moving him into fifth.
He has continued to climb the record books in nearly every offensive category also scored five runs over the weekend giving him 184 all-time which ties him for third all-time and just 43 shy of leader Matt Davidson's 227. Uechi moved into the top 10 in RBI with 134 putting him in ninth place all-time.
