Wildcats Cancel Puerto Rico Trip

ABILENE – ACU women's basketball has announced a change to upcoming plans on their schedule as a student revolt at the University in Puerto Rico has caused cancelation of their trip to the San Juan Shootout later this month.

What started as a disagreement in student fees has turned into a student strike and battle to preserve public education in the country. Riot squads and SWAT teams were dispatched last week as students continued to protest.

With the loss of the two games ACU will now return to action on January 6, at Southwestern Oklahoma when the Wildcats begin a two game road swing through Oklahoma before starting Lone Star Conference South Division play. ACU is 3-6 on the season after a slow start, but have rebounded to win three of their last four in crossover action.

The Wildcats hit the court for what will be the final time before Christmas Break at Moody Coliseum for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff with Southeastern Oklahoma.
