TAHLEQUAH, Okla. –
Dosh Simms led ACU with 14 points as the Wildcats posted their biggest win of the season running away from Northeastern State 63-35 at Dobbins Field House in Lone Star Conference Crossover action Saturday night.
ACU had one of their hottest nights from the field shooting 52% from the field and 56% from behind the three point line as they cruised to improve to 4-2 while NSU falls to 3-5. The Wildcats will be in action again on Monday as they travel to Edmond to take on Central Oklahoma.
Simms the reigning LSC Freshman of the Year has continued a solid sophomore season posting a double-double adding 11 rebounds to go with his 14 points. He was also a perfect 2 for 2 from behind the three point line where the Wildcats shot a season 9 of 16 from behind the arc.
The Wildcat defense was in full force holding the Riverhawks to 25% shooting from the field as ACU never trailed in the win. ACU also got 37 points off the bench as 10 different players found the scoring column.
Dominique Gaines led NSU with eight points.
ACU will travel to Edmond for a men's and women's LSC Crossover double-header on Monday with Central Oklahoma. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. from Hamilton Field House.
