Angelo State would strike first just under 10 minutes in the second half as Ashley Brown would connect giving the Rambelles an early lead.
But the Lone Star Conference's two leaders in goals scored could not be held at bay as
Ashley Holton knocked in her 14th goal of the season. Sophomore
Julie Coppedge would find Holton for her team high eighth assist of the season.
Freshman
Andrea Carpenter would add her 15th goal of the season as Holton would return the favor on the assist. Carpenter gave ACU a 2-0 lead on a low liner that just sneaked in past the low post.
ACU would get their third goal as
Katherine Garner would sneak her second goal of the season past the Rambelles' Melanie Peterson. Garner's insurance goal came in the 88th minute to finish the Wildcats scoring.
The Wildcats will return to action on Sunday as they travel to San Antonio for a crucial match-up with Incarnate Word. Both teams sit in a virtual tie for second in the league standings as just a week and half remain before the LSC tournament. Kickoff in San Antonio is scheduled for noon.
