ODESSA -- The Meyer twins continued their blazing start to the 2009-10 season Tuesday night as they led the ACU Wildcats to a 93-83 win over Texas-Permian Basin in a non-conference women's basketball game at The Falcon Dome.
The win evens the Wildcats' record at 2-2, while the Lady Falcons fall to 1-4 with the loss. ACU is off for the Thanksgiving holiday and won't return to action until Monday, Nov. 30, when it hosts Incarnate Word in a non-conference matchup at Moody Coliseum at 5:30 p.m.
Jody Meyer posted a double-double with 27 points and 13 reobunds to lead four ACU players in double figures in scoring.
Jamie Meyer -- the Wildcats' leading scorer -- poured in 21 points, giving her 21 points in all four ACU games this season.
Jody Meyer, meanwhile, has double-doubles in ACU's last three games, and has recorded games of 27 points and 12 rebounds and 27 points and 13 rebounds in the Wildcats' last two games.
The Meyers' got some scoring support from their teammates Tuesday night as senior point guard
Kat Kundmueller scored 18 points and junior guard
Joanna Harner scored 11 off the bench, while senior guard
Kelsey Darby-Holson scored nine points.
The Wildcats enjoyed their best shooting night of the season as they hit 30 of 56 shots from the field (53.6 percent), including 8 of 18 (44.4 percent) from the 3-point line.
After trailing by as many as seven points in the first half, the Wildcats rallied to grab a 47-45 lead at the break, and then extended it to six points (53-47) early in the second half on a layup by Darby-Holson. Moments later, Harner hit a 3-pointer on an assist from Kundmueller and the Wildcats' had a 56-47 lead with 16:38 left to play.
ACU twice pushed the lead to 13 points in the second half, the last time at 69-56 with 11 minutes left on a 3-pointer by Kundmueller.
