ACU, UCO to meet in softball tourney

DURANT, Okla. -- The ACU softball team will begin play in the Lone Star Conference Post-Season Tournament this Thursdsay with a 5 p.m. game against Central Oklahoma at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex.

The Wildcats finished 28-23 overall and 12-6 in the LSC South Division for third in the LSC South this season, while the Lady Bronchos were the runner-up in the LSC North Division to Southeastern Oklahoma State. the top four teams in each division qualified for the double-elimination post-season tournament, which will run Thursday-Saturday with the championship game set for 11 a.m. Saturday.

If the Wildcats win their first game against UCO, they will play again Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of the Angelo State-Cameron game. A loss against the Lady Bronchos would put the Wildcats into a 7:30 p.m. elimination game Thursday against the loser of the ASU-Cameron game.

All games will be played at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex, located across the Durant Country Club on Highway 78. Adult tickets are $8 for a one-day pass or a tournament pass is available for $20. Student tickets (with valid college I.D. or 18 years of age and younger) are $5 for one-day pass or $10 for the tournament pass.
