The ACU women's track and field team - led by head coach Wes Kittley - captures the first national championship in the program's history by winning the outdoor meet in Los Angeles. Kittley would later become the men's and women's coach and, by the time he left ACU in, 1999, win 29 national championships - an NCAA record in track and field.
