Anthony Egbo, Jr.

Anthony Egbo, Jr. has served ACU as director of the Wildcat Club, the fundraising organization for all 15 athletic programs, since July 2024.

Egbo is a former ACU football student-athlete (2018-23) who transformed from a walk-on to one of the best defensive backs in the Western Athletic Conference. He was voted a team captain for the 2023 season and represented the university at the 2023 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.

A six-time member of the Dean's List, Egbo was a standout academically. He was named the 2023-2024 Football Championship Subdivision Athletic Directors Association Scholar Athlete of the Year, and placed on the WAC All-Academic Team three times.

Egbo served as vice president (2021-2023) and president (2023-2024) of ACU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, was Vice-Chair of the Division I SAAC (2024), and was a representative of the University Diversity Council (2020-2023).

Egbo earned his a bachelor's degree in psychology in May 2022 with a 3.95 cumulative GPA, and his Master's of Business Administration in August 2024 with a 3.91 cumulative GPA. He was also named a University Scholar in 2022, the highest academic award given to an ACU graduate.

"My job is to help [people] get involved and make them feel a part of it, because they are a part of it," said Egbo. "The generosity of the people that love ACU is what keeps those experiences going."

A Richmond, Texas native, Egbo is also an active volunteer and partner with multiple organizations in the Abilene community. He serves as a security team member at The Well Church, where he worships. He has also given his time to Love and Care Ministries, Rwanda's Children, Gleaner's Food Bank, Charity Water and We Love Abilene.
