Lawler joined the Wildcats staff in the summer of 2022 after completing her playing career at ACU. Lawler spent four successful seasons at the University of Southern Mississippi before joining the Wildcats for her final season of eligibility in 2021. 

While at USM she appeared in all 128 matches and left the program with 1,378 digs for seventh-most in their program history. In her lone season with the Wildcats, Lawler recorded 369 digs and averaged 4.34 digs per set both numbers good for sixth all-time in a single season in program history at the DI level. 

She is currently studying conflict management in the masters program at Abilene Christian University.
