High school: Lawson finished his senior season with 22 tackles for Lake Travis HS, which went 8-3 and won the District 25-4A championship. A two-year letterman, the Cavaliers were 19-4 in Lawson's final two seasons. As a senior he was an honorable mention all-district selection and was his team's special teams MVP. He also lettered in baseball in 2007.

Personal: His father, Chuck Lawson, was an honorable mention all-America defensive end on the 1976 ACU team that beat Harding in the Shrine Bowl. Born 05 April 1989. 2007 graduate of Lake Travis High School.
