Will spend the 2007 season as a redshirt.  

High school:  A three-time all-state selection while playing for his father and head coach, Brad McCoy, at both Jim Ned and Graham high schools.  Last year as a senior at Graham HS, McCoy recorded 827 receiving yards and seven touchdowns while leading the Steers to the district title and the third round of the Class 3A playoffs.  After his senior season he played in the Texas High School Coaches' Association All-Star Game, leading the North team with two catches for 29 yards.  Last spring he finished third in the pole vault (14-0.00) in the Class 3A state track and field meet.  

Personal:  His older brother, Colt, is the starting quarterback at the University of Texas. His father, Brad, played football at ACU, and his mother, Debra, is also an ACU graduate.  His grandfather, Burl McCoy, is a member of the ACU Sports Hall of Fame for his exploits as both an athlete and the former women's basketball coach.  Born 05 April 1988.  2007 graduate of Graham High School.
