Lewis enters the 2007 season listed as the backup to all-America Travis Carpenter at defensive end after spending the 2006 season as a redshirt.

High school: Three-year letterman at Kimball HS where he helped the Knights to a combined 27-10 record over three seasons. As a senior he recorded 87 tackles, eight sacks, six tackles for loss, five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. He was a team captain and first team all-district. He also qualified for the regional meet in the discus as a track and field letterman.
