Biography
2024-2025
Competed in 3 XC meets, including the Gans Creek Classic hosted by the University of Missouri and the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M University. In both meets, he was ACU’s #7 finisher. Ethan did not compete in the WAC Championship or the South Central Region Championship. Indoors – competed in 1 meet, finishing 11th in the TTU Red Raider Invitational 3K – received medical redshirt. Outdoors – medical redshirt, but did compete after his release unattached with an 8th place finish in the 1500 as ACU’s lone representative at the J Fred Duckett Twilight Meet hosted by Rice University.Â
2023-2024
Cross Country – enrolled at ACU at midterm, so redshirted XC in the fall. Indoors – ran in 3 indoor meets, including a 12th place finish in the Charles Thomas Invitational mile in College Station in a PR time of 4:30.54. He did not compete at the conference championship. Outdoors – competed in 5 meets, highlighted by a 7th place finish in the Mean Green Invitational 800 in Denton. Did not compete at the conference championship.Â
Before ACUÂ
As a senior at Reagan HS, Ethan finished 30th at the Region IV-6A XC meet and was the team MVP in both 2021 and 2022. As a senior, he would finish 9th in the Arkansas Invitational 800 on the indoor track and he was on the 4x800 relay that placed 2nd at the Texas Relays while setting a new school record in the event. As a junior, Ethan qualified for the Region IV-6A meet, where he finished 10th in the 800. He also finished 9th that year at the Texas Track & Field Coaches Association Meet of Champions in the 800. While at Reagan HS, he was a regional qualifier three times. He was also a member of the Texas 6A XC All-State Academic team as a senior and a 3-time All-District Academic Team member.Â
Personal
Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ronald Reagan HS in the spring of 2023, where he also received National Hispanic recognition from the College Board. His parents are Angela and William Rodriguez and he has a brother, Christian, and a sister, Victoria. Ethan is majoring in History at ACU, where he also received the Presidential Scholarship and the John C. Stevens Award. He is also active as a volunteer with Aid the Silent.Â
