Will play a backup role in the Wildcats’ outfield in 2009.
2008 (Sophomore):
Played in 36 games with 30 starts in the outfield. Hit .289 with 19 RBI on the season. He had three hits in the Wildcats’ season-ended loss to Southern Arkansas in the NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament. He drove in a career-high three runs in an ACU win over Texas A&M-Kingsville on Feb. 29.
2007 (Freshman):
Played one season at Navarro College after originally signing with Oral Roberts out of high school.
High School:
Four-year letterman at Coppell HS where he was a teammate of current ACU teammates Trey Watten and Cameron Watten. Hit better than .366 in each of his four high school seasons. As a freshman in 2002 he won the district batting title with a mark of .458 on his way to earning district Newcomer of the Year honors. After hitting .366 as a sophomore and .390 as a junior, Walsh hit .434 with eight doubles, six home runs and 12 stolen bases as a senior to earn first team all-district honors (third straight year) and first team Class 5A all-state honors.
Personal:
His older brother, Chris Walsh, played for ACU for three seasons (2004-06). Born 02 Sept 1986. 2005 graduate of Coppell High School.
