Biography

2024-2025

Cross Country – competed in all 6 XC meets for ACU during the season. It was over the final 3 meets of the season that she had some of her best meets of the season. At the Arturo Barrios Invitational, she ran her personal best time in the 6K with a 22:22 and was the #4 ACU finisher. At the WAC Championship, she placed 48 th overall and was ACU’s #5 finisher. Then, at the South Central Region XC Championship, she would again be the #4 ACU finisher.  Indoors – competed in 3 meets, including a 10th place finish in the 5K at the Jarvis Scott Invitational in Lubbock. She did not compete in the WAC Indoor Championship. Outdoors – competed in 4 meets for ACU, with a highlight being an 8th place finish in the 5K at the Joe Gillespie Invitational in Stephenville. She did not compete at the WAC Outdoor T&F Championship.

2023-2024

Cross Country – competed in all 6 XC meets during the 2023 season, finishing in the top-6 ACU finishers in each meet. Highlights for the season were finishing as the #3 finisher for ACU in the WAC Championship meet held on ACU’s Zoe Park course (finishing 51st  overall) and #4 ACU finisher at the South Central Region meet in Fayetteville. Indoors – competed in 4 meets indoors, including 3rd in the Charlie Thomas Invitational (College Station) in the 5k with a PR of 18:28.24. She finished 32nd in the 3k at the WAC Championship meet in Albuquerque. Outdoors – competed in 4 meets in the season, including getting a 7th-place finish at the Mean Green Invitational in Denton in the 1500. She did not compete at the WAC championship meet.

2022-2023

Cross Country – competed in all 6 XC meets for ACU in the 2022 season, including a 3 rd place finish in the Lumberjack Invitational and a 44th-place finish in the prestigious Chile Pepper XC Festival. She ran in the top-4 finishers for ACU in every race. Kate finished her first ACU season by finishing 50th in the WAC Conference meet and 94th  in the South Central Region Championship. Indoors – competed in 2 indoor meets, but did not compete in the WAC indoor championship. Outdoors – redshirted.

Before ACU

As a HS senior, Kate finished 9th in the 5A XC meet in the fall, then narrowly missed a trip to the state T&F meet in the spring when she finished 5th in the 3200 at the Region IV-5A meet. As a HS junior, she placed 6th at the Region IV-5A 1600, after finishing 10th in the 5A XC meet, as Kate was instrumental in leading Boerne Champion to victory in the 5A state XC meet. As a sophomore, she placed 9th in the state XC meet and also placed 21st at the state XC meet as a freshman. She was top 10 (All-State) in the XC in her sophomore, junior and senior years and 2-time district champ. She was also a member of the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star team in her junior year, as well as being named to the San Antonio Express News XC Super Team in XC all three years.

Personal

Kate graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boerne Champion in spring of 2022, honored as an AP Scholar and with an AP Capstone Diploma. Her parents are Shelly and Danny Williams and she has a brother, Cole. She is an Early Childhood Education major and she has been on the Deans Honor Roll in each of her first 6 semesters at ACU. She will graduate from ACU in May, 2026, and will pursue her MEd in Early Childhood Education in her 5th year at ACU. While at ACU, she has been active volunteer at The Well Children’s Ministry and The Well College Bible Study, as well as being a member of Ko Jo Kai.
