Pickrell, Han Land in Top 10 as Wildcats Place Third at Red Raider Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas — Abilene Christian women's golf's Kate Pickrell and Jiyu Han each landed in the top 10 as the Wildcats placed third through two rounds at the Red Raider Invitational on Tuesday. Pickrell finds herself in a tie for fourth place as one of six golfers below par, while Han is in a draw for ninth at The Rawls Course.
ACU closes out the tournament Wednesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start of the third and final round. At 14-over 590, the Wildcats are seven strokes behind second-place BYU. They're tied with the Cougars for the lead in the field on par 5s at 2-under. ACU ranks fourth with 22 birdies and is in the top five on par 4s and par 5s.
Pickrell followed a 1-over 73 in the opening round with a 2-under 70 second round. She logged three birdies in each round, tying for sixth in the field with six total. Pickrell tied for the second-best performance in the second round and was remarkably consistent in scoring above par on just one hole. The senior logged a 2-under 33 on the front nine. Pickrell tied for second on par 5s at 2-under and ranks fifth on par 4s.
Han recorded rounds of 1-over 73 and 2-over 74 with four birdies. She tied for sixth on par 4s while drawing for sixth alongside Pickrell with 25 pars. The duo won the 2026 Texas Women's Four-Ball Champion this summer and had five appearances at the Red Raider Invitational entering the tournament.
Kaylee Yuan and Alana Kutt each enter the final round in a tie for 19th at 6-over 150. Yuan, after leading the Wildcats at the Boilermaker Classic in her collegiate debut, delivered rounds of 2-over 74 and 4-over 76 with four birdies. Kutt showcased a four-stroke improvement with a 1-over 73 first round after opening at 5-over 77. Kutt is the leader in the field on par 5s at 3-under, while Yuan is right behind at 2-under. Kutt closed at 1-under 36 on the second round's back nine.
Julia Vollmer and Hoi Ki Lau each tied for 55th place at 17-over 161, with Lau competing as an individual. Vollmer improved by three strokes with a 7-over 79 second round, while Lau opened at 3-over 75.
