ACU Partners with Taylor Telecom to Reward Big Country Kids

Abilene Christian University Athletics and Taylor Telecom are teaming up to launch the Taylor Telecom Trail Blazer Partnership, a program which will provide Big Country students with a VIP ACU Athletics experience, as announced by the organizations in August.
Area school districts which Taylor Telecom serves will have the opportunity to recognize outstanding students with elevated experiences at Wildcat athletic events. The partnership will also include surprise classroom visits by ACU student-athletes and co-branded ACU and Taylor Telecom shirts to give local students an opportunity to meet college role models.
"We're proud to partner with ACU Athletics to create opportunities that celebrate students, teachers and schools across the rural communities we serve," said Ricky Martinez, General Manager and CEO of Taylor Telecom. "For 75 years, Taylor Telecom has been committed to supporting our local schools and investing in the people who make these communities special.
"The Trail Blazer Partnership allows us to build on the relationships we already have with schools like Jim Ned, Wylie, Hawley, Eula, Lueders-Avoca and Anson, while creating new opportunities to recognize deserving students and educators. We're excited to give rural Big Country students experiences they may not otherwise have and to celebrate the teachers and schools that invest in them every day."
Each month one participating school district will select a student to be the Taylor Telecom Trail Blazer – someone who is making a difference in their community while inspiring others. Those students will be celebrated with premium transportation to ACU's campus and behind-the-scenes access to Wildcat teams and players.
"Growing up in a smaller community, I know firsthand that students don't always have access to experiences like these or the opportunity to see what's possible beyond their own community," said Abilene Christian Sports Properties General Manager Marcus Dunn, who is from Ranger. "That's why I'm so passionate about this program. The Trail Blazer partnership gives us a chance to help pave the way, create access and connect young people with experiences and role models that can inspire them to dream bigger."
ACU will also provide complimentary ticket opportunities for participating schools, which will give students, families, teachers and administrators greater access to the Big Country's Division I athletics program.
