Wildcats Rise Two Spots Entering Final Round at JT Poston Invitational

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. - Abilene Christian men's golf rose two spots from the first round to the second at the JT Poston Invitational at Waynesville Inn and Golf Club on Sunday and Monday. After tying for 12th place following the first round, the Wildcats slotted into a tie for 10th place at 10-over 570 entering the tournament's third and final round at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

ACU logged a 9-over 289 in the first round of action on Sunday before improving to just 1-over 281 on Monday. The Wildcats are matched with Elon and Morehead State on the leaderboard, with Southern Miss leading the 15-team pack at 9-under 551. UT Rio Grande Valley is ahead of ACU in ninth place at 3-over 563.

The Vaqueros' Rodolphe Cicala is atop the individual leaderboard at 6-under 134.

Competing in his 24th career tournament, Thomas Buisson leads the way for the Wildcats in a tie for 33rd place at 2-over 142. The Bordeaux, France product improved upon a 3-over 73 in the opening round with a 1-under 69 on Monday. Buisson tallied eight birdies between the two rounds, including four on the back nine in the second round. He leads ACU on par 4 holes, shooting 1-under.

Grégoire Hoyeau, an All-Western Athletic Conference Second Team honoree last season, followed his fellow Frenchman in a draw for 41st place at 3-over 143. He shot an even-par 70 on Sunday, closing the round with an eagle on No. 18 to go with four birdies. Hoyeau added a couple birdies in the second round as he carded a 3-over 73. He is shooting 6-under on par 5s.

Jack Hollingsed wasn't far behind in a tie for 46th place at 4-over 144. He led ACU after the first round with a 1-under 69 before scoring a 5-over 75 in the second. Hollingsed recorded four birdies on Sunday and leads the Wildcats with 23 pars. He's shot best in the lineup on par 3s at 1-over.

In his first tournament as a Wildcat, Tres Hill is tied for 54th place at 5-over 175 after cutting nine strokes off his score from one round to the next. The Oklahoma City transfer logged a 7-over 77 on Sunday and bounced back with a 2-under 68 on Monday. Hill shot seven birdies in the second round, including three on the final four holes. He leads ACU with nine birdies.

Colin Leonard rounds out the Wildcats' lineup with an eight-stroke improvement to tie for 83rd at 10-over 150. He registered a 9-over 79 in the first round and rebounded with a 1-over 71 in the second. Leonard bogeyed just two holes on Monday.
