Box Score ABILENE — The ACU Wildcats got back on track Saturday morning at the Teague Special Events Center with a 6-1 win over Texas A&M-Texarkana in men's non-conference tennis action.
The Wildcats are now 8-5, concluding their eight-match homestand with a 7-1 record. ACU will play next weekend at Lamar (Friday at 1 p.m. in Beaumont) and Rice (Saturday at 3 p.m. in Houston).
On Saturday in Abilene, ACU easily won all three doubles matches to win the doubles point, and each of the top five singles matches to take the win over the Eagles. The Wildcats played Saturday's match without No. 1 singles player Daniel Morozov, who sat out to rest. The Wildcats also played without Merse Deli and Dennis Dutine.
Alejandro Verdasco played No. 1 singles in place of Morozov, and recorded a 6-2, 6-3 win over Andrew Otzenberger at No. 1 singles, and he teamed with Ethan Scribner for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
