ABILENE - ACU's student-athletes earned a 3.41 grade point average for the 2024 fall semester -- the department's highest single-semester GPA since at least 2011, when available data was tracked.
The total continues the Wildcats' trend of excellence in the classroom. ACU's athletes have combined for at least a 3.2 GPA for seven straight semesters.
"I could not be more proud of the work our student-athletes have done in the classroom," vice president for athletics Zack Lassiter said. "These results are a testament to the hard work of our assistant athletic director for academics and student-athlete development Claire Ferrell and her entire team in the academic center."
Out of 366 student-athletes, 156 were named to the Dean's List. Ninety-one student-athletes -- nearly one-in-four -- earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall.
"My goals for each student-athlete are that they grow in their faith, they reach their potential in the classroom, and they compete for and win championships. We are hitting all three of those goals at ACU."
ACU's eight women's teams combined for a 3.65 GPA with women's tennis leading the way with a 3.79 GPA. Women's cross country (3.78) and women's golf (3.76) finished right behind.
The seven men's programs recorded a 3.23 combined GPA. Men's tennis posted a 3.57 GPA. The baseball team attained a 3.56 GPA, and men's cross country had a 3.48.
