ACU to Open Spring Season in Cancun

ABILENE – Abilene Christian launches the spring golf season on Monday at the Los Vaqueros Intercollegiate in Cancun, Mexico.
The three-day, 72-hole tournament begins at the Playa Paraiso Golf Club on Monday and finishes on Wednesday. The Playa Paraiso Golf Club is a par-72, 6701-yard course.
ACU is joined by host Texas-Rio Grande Valley, Lamar, Wichita State, UTEP, Alabama-Birmingham, Northern Colorado, Virginia Commonwealth and Texas-Arlington.
Representing the Wildcats for the week are Zane Heusel, Trenton Johnson, Thomas Buisson, Jaime Lewis, Charlie Jackson and Preston DeFriend.
Heusel leads this week's cast with a 71-stroke average, followed by Lewis at 71.2 and Jackson at 71.7.
The Wildcats finished off the fall with a third-place finish at New Mexico State's Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate.
