ABILENE – Abilene Christian heads to Huntsville this weekend for a three-game series at Sam Houston.
The series begins with a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and concludes with a single game at noon on Saturday.
The Wildcats are 7-9 after taking three games from Texas A&M-Commerce on Sunday and Monday.
Kaydee Bennett leads the Cats with a .490 batting average through 16 games. She also is tied with
Avery Miloch with three home runs. MIloch leads the Cats with 12 RBIs.
Olivia Marble (.388 BA),
Sammie Shelanders (.326, 2 HR) and
Bubba Rote (.344) have led the offense early. Bennett also is eight for eight in stolen base attempts.
Talia Nielsen is 3-2 in the circle with a 2.23 earned run average and
Ella Beeman carries a 2-2 record and a 2.88 ERA into the series.
Sam Houston is 6-9 this season after a loss at Texas A&M.
Morgan Holliday leads the Bearkats with a .346 batting average and has seven RBIs. Sam Houston is hitting .236 as a team.
The SHSU pitching staff owns a 6.27 team earned run average.
